How to Measure

Waist:

How we measure - With garment laying flat, measure straight across on belt line from one side to the other. Double the result.

How you measure - Wrap a measuring tape around your natural waist at your beltline, keeping the tape snug but comfortable. Record that measurement to find your waist size.

Hips:

How we measure - With garment laying flat, at a point 8 in down from the waistband, measure straight across the garment from one side to the other. Double the result.

How you measure - Wrap a measuring tape around the fullest part of your hips, typically about 8 inches below your natural waist, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. Record that measurement to find your hip size.

Skirt Length:

How we measure - With garment laying flat, measure from the top of the waistline to the bottom hem.

How you measure - Stand straight and use a flexible measuring tape from where the skirt will sit on your waist or hips, measuring straight down to your desired hem point.

Bust:

How we measure - With garment laying flat, measure straight across from armpit to armpit. Double the result.

How you measure - Place one end of the tape measure at your armpit, stretch across the fullest part of your bust to the armpit opposite to get measurement. Double the result.

Dress or Top Length:

How we measure - With garment laying flat, measure from the highest point of the collar to the bottom hem.

How you measure - Stand straight and use a flexible measuring tape from your shoulder, measuring straight down to your desired hem — whether that's the hip, knee, midi, or floor length.

• Once payment has been confirmed, most orders ship the next business day. However, if you need your package even faster, please call or message us and we will do all we can to get your items to your door as quickly as possible!
• If your address was entered incorrectly and the package is returned, you will be responsible for additional shipping charges.  Any items refused at time of delivery forfeit their shipping charges and will only be refunded the value of the items.

• Missing or Damaged Packages: While we sincerely hope that this does not happen to you, the occasional package - to our dismay! - goes missing or is damaged during transit. If you choose the Checkout+ option and pay the small fee you will be covered for these mishaps and will be issued a refund or replacement.  If you choose not to purchase the checkout plus protection, you will need to file a claim with the shipping provider if your package is lost, stolen, or damaged.  Once an order is is handed over to our shipping partner, Salt and Honey cannot assume responsibility for any packages lost or stolen.

RETURN POLICY 

We accept returns and exchanges on unworn, unwashed, unaltered, unused item(s) that were purchased at regular price. Items must be shipped back to us within 30 days of the date they were purchased. Sale items, gift cards, food/candy and health/body items are not eligible for return. Shipping charges, Checkout+ and redeemed points are nonrefundable. 

Items that show signs of wear, have a perfume or smoke smell, traces of animal hair or are marked by makeup are not valid for return, refund, store credit or exchange. Shoes must have the original shoebox intact and be unaltered. The shoebox cannot be used for a return shipping package.

Once we've received your items and the return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your original payment method. We reserve the right to issue store credit instead of a refund.

CHECKOUT+ 

If you selected Checkout+ with your purchase, you have unlimited free returns and exchanges, making it easy to find the perfect fit. 

With Checkout+ there will be no additional cost for shipping eligible items back to us, should you need to make a return or an exchange. You can still make a return or an exchange without Checkout+ but you will be responsible for any additional fees established by our store’s return portal. 

DAMAGED ITEMS

Damaged or defective products must be reported within 5 days of receipt to be eligible for replacement. Please send an email to info@salt-honey.com with your order number and detailed photos of the defect. We will do our best to make this right!

UNAUTHORIZED RETURNS

Unfortunately we cannot accept items that have not been authorized for return. Please do not ship them back to us, as no refund can be given and an $11 handling fee may apply.

Salt & Honey offers thoughtfully selected modest clothing for women, including modest dresses, long skirts, denim skirts, feminine tops, layering pieces, and comfortable activewear. We look for clothing that brings together coverage, comfort, practicality, and timeless style—pieces that can serve you well on ordinary weekdays, Sunday mornings, and many moments in between.

What makes your clothing modest?

Because every woman’s preferences are different, we provide detailed information rather than relying on a single definition of modest clothing. We consider features such as skirt and dress length, necklines, sleeves, fit, slits, fabric weight, and lining. When a piece may benefit from an additional layer, we do our best to mention that in its product details.

We encourage you to compare the garment measurements and photographs with your own preferences before purchasing.

How do I choose the right size?

Begin with the size chart on the individual product page. Because sizing can vary between brands and styles, we recommend comparing the listed garment measurements with a similar piece in your closet that fits you comfortably.

Our measurements are approximate, and a variation of up to one inch may occur during manufacturing. You can also review the model’s height and size worn, along with our notes about whether the item runs small, true to size, oversized, fitted, or flowy.

Do you personally try on the clothing?

Yes. We try on many of the clothes we carry, pay attention to customer feedback, and share the fit and coverage details we would want to know ourselves. This firsthand experience helps us offer more useful guidance about sizing, length, comfort, stretch, and styling.

Are measurements included for each garment?

We provide available garment measurements in the Sizing & Fit section of each product page. Depending on the item, these may include bust, waist, hip, inseam, and overall length measurements.

For the most helpful comparison, measure a similar garment while it is lying flat or compare the listed measurements with your own body measurements. Please remember that personal fit preferences and fabric stretch can affect how an item feels.

Will the fabric stretch?

Stretch varies from one garment to another. Check the product’s fabric content and fit notes for details. Fabrics containing spandex or elastane generally offer some flexibility, while structured cotton denim and woven fabrics may have less give.

We describe items as structured, softly structured, stretchy, or comfortably flexible whenever possible so you can choose a piece suited to the way you prefer your clothing to fit.

Are your dresses and skirts lined?

Some of our modest dresses and skirts are fully or partially lined, while others are made from fabric substantial enough to wear without lining. Because this varies by style, please check the individual product details.

We also note when a lighter-colored garment may benefit from a slip or another layering piece. If you still have questions about opacity or coverage, please reach out before ordering.

What skirt lengths do you carry?

Our collection includes knee-length skirts, midi skirts, long skirts, and maxi skirts for women. You may find A-line skirts, pencil skirts, flowing knit skirts, athletic skirts, and long denim skirts in a range of lengths.

Always check the exact length measurement on the product page. The same skirt will fall differently depending on your height, proportions, and where you prefer the waistband to sit.

Do you offer plus sizes?

Sizing varies by garment, but many of our modest dresses, skirts, tops, and layering pieces are available in extended or plus sizes. Available sizes are shown on each product page.

We recommend shopping by measurements rather than size labels alone, since sizing can differ between makers. If you need help finding the styles currently available in your size, please contact us. We would be glad to help narrow the search.

How should I care for my clothing?

What if the item does not fit?

Eligible regular-price items may be returned or exchanged when they are unworn, unwashed, unaltered, and unused. Items must be shipped back within 30 days of purchase. Sale items and certain other product categories are not eligible for return.

To begin, use our online Return Portal. If you selected Checkout+ when placing your order, return or exchange shipping for eligible items is included. Without Checkout+, you may still request a return or exchange, but return-portal fees will apply. Please review our complete Return Policy for all eligibility requirements.

What is Checkout+?

Checkout+ is an optional service available for a small fee during checkout. It includes free return or exchange shipping for eligible purchases, along with package protection if your order is lost, stolen, or damaged in transit.

You may decline Checkout+ and still make an eligible return or exchange, but you will be responsible for the applicable return shipping fees.

How quickly will my order ship?

Most confirmed orders ship by the next business day. Standard shipping generally takes three to seven business days, and expedited options may be available during checkout.

Eligible orders may also qualify for free shipping when they meet the current purchase threshold. If you need an order by a particular date, please contact us before ordering, and we will let you know how we can help.

Is local pickup available?

Local pickup is available for eligible products at our Orrville, Ohio boutique. The product page and checkout will indicate whether pickup is available for your order. Most pickup orders are ready within 24 hours, and you will receive a notification when yours is ready.
